This Week in Weird: Pillow Love!

The Otaku can be an odd beast. It is not a new phenomenon -- being obsessed with Anime and Manga, but lately it has reached new heights. Sure, people have chuckled at the pudgy, bespeckled, middle aged, ComicCon attending, mother's basement living, Otakus -- they laugh at their loneliness, sure that the poor Otaku is doomed to a life alone.

But some Otakus have struck back! Loneliness be damned...

they are getting married!

Take the case of Li Jin-Gyu, who this week celebrated his marriage. His lucky bride? I'll let the great publication The Escapist tell you all about it:

[his blushing bride is] a dakimakura body pillow featuring the image of Fate Testarossa, one of the popular heroines of magical girl show Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha.
The beautiful couple appear not just joyous, but incredibly dignified:

We here at D&D wish them all the best. The couple has had a long history of love and excitement, a bit like When Harry Met Sally -- only in this case when Li Jin-Gyu Met Body Pillow. Their romance is touching.

Their courtship has taken them to Amusement Parks:

and to romantic restaurants:

I'll have what she's having!

The wedding ceremony was evidently both tasteful and exciting, and we are happy to say, did not occur anywhere near the Romanian town run by Mayor Petru Antral, who has recently ordered this road sign posted throughout town:

Translation? "Warning -- Drunks". Evidently, people have been getting so hammered, they are now officially road hazards. But I digress.

Li Jin-Gyu, we salute you. You have taken marriage to new heights -- even topping that Japanese dude who married a character in one of his Nintendo DS Games. But, obviously, we have a question. Lets skip past some of the stickier logistical issues -- we're pretty sure we don't want to know the details on most of them. (sorry Reidy)

What we do want to know is when Mr. Li will be pulling a "Lindsay", and suing James Franco and 30 Rock for the clear mockery of his love life.

Milk-a-what?
